Let’s do some green crafts with the kids today!
As usual we will be using everyday materials. You may already have these in your home.
If none yet, no worries, because these require materials that are readily available in stores.
Also, these green crafts are great activities for kids during the spring season, on St. Patrick’s Day, on Earth Day, or when they really just like something green.
As a mom, I personally like green projects because it makes my kids love the nature’s color. It reinforces our love for nature!
And I love it that my kids like greens! They’re very refreshing to the eyes.
So… let’s start!
1. Seashell Turtle
Get a seashell and paint it green. Add googly eyes (oh it looks fun!) as well as legs and tail, and voila! You’ve turned the seashell into a little turtle!
2. Plant Pot Frog
A simple clay pot transforms into an adorable green frog! This is just so cute! Perfect for home decor!
3. Duck Headband
The kids will definitely have fun wearing a duck headband. They can use it during pretend play or when they simply want to play with something on their heads.
4. Leprechaun Hats
Here’s another thing the kids can wear on their heads – leprechaun hats. And you can make these by repurposing empty toilet paper rolls!
They can wear these on St. Patrick’s Day or when they simply want to play with hats!
5. Little Leprechauns
Okay… if you have more toilet paper rolls, create little leprechauns as well. These set just looks funny. Let the kids play with it!
6. Bell Pepper Stamping
Have fun with some bell peppers! Use large bell peppers for stamping. And of course, choose green paint so it’s color green.
Just choose which kind of bell pepper you’ll use. Three bumps at the bottom will look like a shamrock when stamped. If it’s four bumps, it will be a clover stamp.
Your kids can then decide how to design it further!
7. Banana Leaf Wreath
Okay we’re not going to use actual banana leaves here. Instead, we will use green colored crepe papers!
It looks really nice. When done you can put this on the wall or on your front door. I’m sure your kids will love it so much that what they’ve created is now part of your home’s decor!
8. Peas in the Pod
Oh, this one’s really cute and super easy to make!
I love those peas’ smiling faces. They look just fun! Smiles are indeed contagious.

9. Very Hungry Caterpillar Finger Puppets
If you haven’t read The Very Hungry Caterpillar yet to your kids, you might want to give it a try!
It’s a classic children’s story and a good opportunity to teach your kids about butterflies too. That story is this caterpillar craft’s foundation.
Make these caterpillar finger puppets with your kids. And then play with these later!
10. Egg Carton Flower Crown
Repurpose egg cartons and turn them into beautiful flower crowns! Oh, the little girls will love these I’m sure. And they can use this in pretend play as princesses!
11. Milk Jug Watering Can
Repurpose a plastic milk jug into a watering can for your plants. Let your kids paint it with green and decorate it with flowers to make it pretty.
12. Shamrock Paper Origami
Create your own pot of shamrock paper origami. Display it in your living room for extra green – refreshing to the eyes!
This is a nice craft for St. Patrick’s Day, or when you simply like shamrock.
13. Shamrock Man
Aside from origami, you can also make a shamrock man with your kids. It looks fun, so I guess, it’s also fun to play with!
14. Rock Cactus
Gather rocks and let the kids paint them green like cactus! Arrange them in a pot and you’ve got your cactus perfect for display!
15. Paper Frog Gift Bag
Let the kids make a really fun gift bag with this paper frog craft! This froggy is just so cute! Whoever receives this will surely be delighted!
16. Apple Tree Craft
Let the kids make an apple tree craft using pouf bath sponge. It’s not the usual painting tool, but it’s fun to have a little twist from time to time! Right?
17. Broccoli Craft
I think this can help the kids to like to eat broccoli. Because if broccoli looks like this, what can you say? Aren’t they adorable with those googly eyes?
18. Handprint Turtles
Oh, I just love these turtles – they look adorable! Let the kids trace their handprints on a green paper.
Then help them turn these into turtles. And then have fun sticking the colorful buttons!
19. Handprint Cactus Card
Here’s another handprint craft for your kids – a cactus card. Inside, let them write a message. It can be for you or for another family member, or for a friend.
Oh, this is just so sweet! They can make something like this for Mothers’ Day.
20. Monster Cards
Here’s another card craft – green monster cards. This reminds me of the movie Monsters University. I like that movie!
These green monster cards are fun to make and will help practice the kids’ imaginations and creativity. They can then give these to family and friends.
21. Searching for Apple Bottle Cap Game
I just love how simple yet creative this game is!
Make an apple tree with your kids. The green bottle caps will be the leaves. And then, you will hide small apples under those caps, and the kids will search for these.
It’s quite simple. But it’s really good. And the kids will love it for sure, especially toddlers!
22. Salt Painting
If you’ve never tried salt painting before with your kids, you might want to this time. It’s really fun!
You can draw and paint a shamrock for St. Patrick’s Day. Or it can be other things like leaves, frog, turtle, broccoli, or any other green thing you can come up with.
23. Bubble Wrap Turtle Craft
Here’s a great idea to make good use of those bubble wraps. Paint them green and use in a turtle craft! Then let the kids play with those turtles.
24. Letter C is for Caterpillar
I really like a caterpillar. And making a letter C with it just makes the alphabet more interesting to learn. Perfect for when you’re already familiarizing your kids with the alphabet.
25. Leprechaun Popsicle Stick Craft
Here’s another simple green craft you can make with the kids for St. Patrick’s Day. Create little leprechauns from craft sticks and play with them after. Make it cute and fun!
