Is your closet overflowing with chaos? Let’s declutter the closet together. Follow these simple decluttering tips!

Do you struggle every morning, staring into a closet overflowing with clothes, random boxes, forgotten items, and things that just don’t belong? Yet somehow feeling like there’s nothing to wear.
When you’re a busy mom, your days are already packed with endless to-dos, and the last thing you need is to wrestle with an overstuffed closet.
This is why it can be totally life-changing when you declutter your closet. It saves time, reduces stress, and yes, it can make dressing up in the morning feel effortless.
Now you don’t have to dedicate an entire day to this task. With a simple, step-by-step approach, you can declutter your closet in manageable chunks. And do only what you can in 15 minutes. Do more when you have more time to spare.
Step 1: Choose one section of your closet to declutter.
Decluttering doesn’t have to mean an all-day commitment. Instead, break it down into small, manageable chunks.
Set a timer for 10-15 minutes and focus on just one section at a time – maybe your shoes, your handbags, or a drawer or a shelf.
When the timer goes off, stop. Even if you only decluttered a few things, that’s progress! And progress is the goal, not perfection.

The Quick-Decision Method
We don’t have all day. So, let’s keep things simple:
Love it and use it? Keep it.
Broken, expired, or useless? Toss it.
Haven’t used it in a year? Donate it.
Belongs somewhere else? Move it out of the closet.
No overthinking. Just quick decisions!
The “would I buy it again?” test
Still unsure about an item?
Ask yourself: “If I saw this in a store today, would I buy it?” If the answer is no, you know what to do!
Step 2: Create a “maybe” box.
If you’re struggling to let go of certain things, put them in a box. Seal it and set a reminder on your phone for 30 days.
If you don’t miss anything in that box, donate it without opening it again. Trust me, you won’t even remember what’s inside!
Step 3: Organize as you go (quick & simple!)
Once you’ve sorted through some items, take a few minutes to organize what’s left. No need for fancy bins or expensive systems. Simply grouping similar items together (shoes with shoes, bags with bags, keepsakes in one box) makes a huge difference.
Bonus tip: Use storage bins or baskets to keep non-clothing items from getting lost in the chaos. Label them if necessary so you always know where things belong!
Continue doing steps 1 to 3 until you have sorted out everything in your closet. Now when it comes to clothes…

Decluttering clothes the easy way.
Clothes often take up the most space in our closets, and they can be the hardest to part with.
Start by pulling out anything that no longer fits, feels uncomfortable, or hasn’t been worn in over a year.
If you struggle to decide, try the ‘hanger trick’ – turn all your hangers backward, and after you wear something, hang it back the right way.
In a few months, you’ll see what you truly wear and what can go.

Keep a donation bag in your closet.
Keeping a donation bag handy will help you make decluttering an ongoing habit.
When you find something you no longer need, simply toss it in the bag. Once it’s full, donate it!

Give yourself grace.
You’re a busy mom, and your time is precious. Don’t feel guilty if you can’t declutter everything in one day. That’s why we’re doing it in just 15 minutes a day.
So, take it one step at a time. And before you know it, you’ll have a tidy, stress-free space that makes finding what you need so much easier.
Now, go enjoy that extra closet space – maybe even reward yourself with a fresh cup of coffee (this time while it’s still hot!).
Happy decluttering, mama!
